I've just started this book, and I'm enjoying it. It's a tiny bit above my reading level, so I understand most of it, and am learning a lot of new vocabulary. I'm especially happy that the book focuses on authentic dialogue and realistic situations. Danke!

Enjoyable, easy read for this level. The story was not difficult to follow, even with the many new words I learned along the way. Context is everything and I never felt stumped or frustrated as I was reading the adventure. Herr Antrim's writing style made me feel as if I were in Berlin seeing the sights along with the boys.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the eBook includes an audiobook as well as Anki flashcards -- the flashcards even have audio tracks and different verb forms! The stories and conversations in the book are realistic and engaging. Although I find some chapters may be slightly above B1 level. Unlike similar graded readers, this book introduces the readers to real landmarks in Berlin (think Lonely Planet in a novel form). It also cleverly educates the readers about German culture through the eyes of the characters in the story. I'm very impressed by the range of exercises in the Arbeitsbuch -- they are way beyond the typical multiple choice questions offered by other graded readers. I look forward to the next book, which will no doubt teach me a lot about Hannover.
