What to Learn from This Practice Exam

This B1 listening practice is not only about getting the right answers. It is also about learning how to approach a listening exam strategically.

In Teil 1, pay attention to small details that can make a statement true or false. A sentence may sound close to what you heard, but one word can change the meaning. For example, a person may still live in the same city, even if the question says they moved to another city.

In Teil 2, listen carefully for practical information such as times, locations, reasons, ticket information, and changes due to weather. Announcement tasks often include several similar details, so it is important to know what each question is asking before the audio begins.

In Teil 3, focus on the speaker’s reasons, challenges, opinions, and future plans. Interview questions often test whether you understand the speaker’s main point, not just individual words.

B1 Listening Tips

• Do not answer based on assumptions. Choose the answer that matches the audio, even if another answer seems possible.
• Practice with one-time listening. Real exams usually do not let you replay the audio several times, so train yourself to stay focused the first time.
